SOLIDARITY
SERIES
I created this series for MOSAIC 2025: a juried show at 171 Cedar Arts Center in Corning, NY.

Right now the world seems on the verge of environmental and societal collapse. Countries have become war zones—we have lost our humanity to a culture that buries the innocent and worships power.

Each painting in this series relates stylistically to the others. Shapes reminiscent of figures are in conversation and conflict with each other. With color and line I have tried to convey the unease and discomfort of choosing to turn toward rather than away. Each painting can stand alone. But there is power in their shared community.

We cannot bring about systemic change individually; we must orient our hearts toward our neighbors. Our survival depends on humans finding a way to trust and care for each other.
